Caregiving made the need personal.
Diana grew up watching family members care for elders and later became directly involved in caregiving, illness, medical care, end-of-life situations, and difficult family circumstances. She saw how much families can love one another and still feel unprepared when a decision, document, or next step is suddenly needed.
Love alone does not tell a family who has authority, where documents are, what someone wants, or what steps happen next. Loved ones have full lives with children, jobs, health, finances, and caregiving responsibilities. Without preparation, they can inherit confusion during an already stressful time.
Preparing ahead is a way of loving the people who may one day step in.
